From signup to a confirmed contact
Building a newsletter signup around an explicit confirmation step and a working way to leave.
The starting point
Typing an email address into a form should not silently add someone to future outreach. The visitor needs to understand the next step and keep control of their subscription.
What we built
The build-log signup reuses the site's double-opt-in flow. A confirmation email carries the next step; only confirmation enables subscription. The integration passes confirmed contacts to the configured Leadmine endpoint, and newsletter messages include an unsubscribe link.
What changed
The site has a public sample confirmation email and an unsubscribe route. Tests cover confirmation, subscriber counts and opt-out. Actual delivery depends on the configured mail and contact services; the sample preview sends no email.
